Waiting for the NYE

The Christmas lunch succeeded well and people really enjoyed it. There were some twenty people and the food was good and plenty, too plenty. Altogether nice day and evening.

The next day we drove with Anthony and Vanessa to Palm Beach in north of Sydney and had two day beach vacation. And I fell in love with body boarding, such a lovely sport.
Yesterday was supposed to be shopping day but Marika didn't buy anything. I found two shirts and afterwards we went to movies, The Incredibles. Funny movie, I recommend.

Abt the NYE...don't know yet. We'll see what happens.

Merry everyone!

As Homer put it.

I just write shortly while taking break from the Christmas lunch preparation. Me and Anthony are throwing the lunch and man it is hard work to cook few hours in a row. Gotta say my respect to my mum just jumped higher.

Marika came here few days ago and it's nice to share Christmas with someone special. Even though there's no snow...snif. But enough complaining, it's pretty warm here and she's here. Merry everyone!

Pictures from the past two weeks

There are lots of pics and I've just started to go through them. I've found some 20 pics so far of roadtrip but there's a lot more to come.

But enjoy them so far: Roadtrip

edit:

And here's more pics from the time in Sydney. Enjoy!

The road trip

What can I say about that...? some people have heard about it and know it ;) it's hard to put it into story. but i'll try.

Day 1 (Monday)
We started pretty early, like 6 am. Pack the car, eat and start. First drive out of Sydney, some "tourist drives" (we got lost in plain english) and finally in Newcastle. That was...interesting city (boring). We climbed up to a radar station and walked down to the beach. That was nice but we didn't stay there that long, off we went.

Next stop was somewhere...a small town, can't really remember. We drove through many li'l towns so you'll forget them easily. At the end we went to two beatiful beaches and bought "bodyboard" (it's a shitty one). And after long "what-to-do" conversation we ended up in a camping place in South Western Rocks (or sumthing). And some of you know what happened...we climbed to a tree and I came down pretty fast, auts. You'll see the pictures later...it's not nice. And it rained...

Day 2
Next day we stopped by a medical centre and I got 4 stiches to my finger. And I didn't even show my left foot. But it was cheap and good treatment so 'Good on ya mates!' to them. The whole day was shitty, it was raining, raining and raining. At the end of the day we were on the tip of the Gold Coast (as it was raining, of course). This was the first motel night and the room was nice and cheap(25 dollars pp). There's really nothing much to say about the day 2.

Day 3
As it was raining there was no point going to the beaches. So we decided to the mountains, into national park of Mount Warning. That was after we drove back to the motel and I gave the key back :) Anyways, it was about an hour's drive there and when we got there...it was raining! But after twenty or so minutes it stopped and we decided to hike up to the summit. And we almost did. With only 1 km to go (not vertical) we turned back as the weather was looking better and we wanted to be on the beach. And of course I didn't like the leeches that I found sucking my feet (burn baby burn!). But, as you may guess, the weather did not stay as pleasant so we just drove to Surfers Paradise and got a room for two nights. And checked the local night life, which was nice.

Day 4

With (just) a bit of hangover we slept long and because it rained (really?!) we decided to visit the local koala park. Or wild park but you actually go there to see koalas, don't you? And there we discovered that it really had rained during the last couple of days. The guys at the park told us that the koala/wombat fencing had flooded the previous day. And the kangaroo land was still under water mostly. Poor anim... us! But the koalas were so cute! We got to pet them and I want to have one...and a wombat too. We all fell in love with them.
When we got back we headed to motel, watched the Simpsons ;) and went dining. We also checked the local night life outside the clubs and bars. Must say, it is active holiday place. And the prices are still affordable. But go there when it doesn't rain!

Day 5

We slept till 10 am and checked-out just before 10.30 am deadline. After that we had this li'l unwanted but necessary thing to do...A friend of mine's wallet was stolen the previous night (no, none of us was even close to drunk) and we had to report it. The officer was nice and it was done in short time. So we started to drive back to Sydney. BUT THEN! SUN!!! We drove to nearest beach and got sun light for abt 15 minutes! That was our sunshine state, Queensland. Anyways, Antti "body boarded" for a while and we ate there too. Abt 3 pm we started the car and had some 1000 K's to drive. At the end I drove the last 4 hours and we were just before 1 am Saturday morning back in Quakers Hill. What a road trip!

I'm alive and...alive

Sorry for the silence, the last two weeks have been pretty hectic. Lots of things happened and others did not. I'll try summarise the road trip in next few days here and tell about the other stuff we did. Nothing major, just lots of li'l things gone wrong and occasionally right :)

The boys left today, 20 minutes ago to be exact. It was a great two weeks, thank you guys for that! I salute you ;)

Going North

We just woke up and are getting ready head north. The plan is to drive some three days up to Surfers Paradise and stay there for one or two days. Then back to Sydney. As you can see from the map the pace is not very high and we are going to enjoy the trip rather than spending it in the car.

Yesterday we picked up the car (Nissan Pulsar) and Janne was driving like a pro. That is after he opened the wrong door and the first turn was accompained with sweepers :)
But after that everything was pretty smooth as we drove to Manly Beach.

Anyways, I try to report en route but can't promise anything. The whole trip will take 6-8 days so don't worry if there are no messages before that.

Here's the plan with green being the main route and blue is indicating the little trip to "outback" on our way back to Sydney.

And then it was three of us

Yep. The guys are here. Even though it took some effort to get them here (plane was late for an hour, trains were late, etc). Now they are sleeping "comfy" in the living room. We had some ideas of our road trip and most likely we'll head to north first, to Gold Coast. Then stay there for couple of days and after that drive to some outback, drive to Sussex Inlet through Blue Mountains and then come back. It'll be some 2500+ kilometers but atm we think it's doable. But I'll let you know...

Stupid Blogger

I hope you can read this 'cause I'm not sure I can publish it. I've been having some prob's with Blogger, I just can't log on to my account. But hopefully that'll change.

Today (yesterday) was my last exam...I can't be proud of it. Wasn't suicide-horrible but bad. I'll maybe get a credit and with HUGE luck even distinction. But it's over! I just hadn't motivation for the last couple of weeks. And especially when I got only distinction from the Modelling unit, damn. So I gotta work harder next year.

The guys are coming on Friday...yesterday I bought some food so we don't have to waste money on that but...you know ;)
