It's over!!

Marketing I mean. We had the exam yesterday and it went pretty well, really. I didn't answer to two questions that equaled 4/40 points so they weren't so significant. I really had no idea about those two but others were alright. I'm dreaming of credit mark from this and if our group work is really good even distinction is possible...but that's a long shot.

Next week I have Strategic Bank Management exam and after that a new unit begins. I believe it was Advanced Modeling so back to real thing. I still have to do an assignment for the Bank Management and will continue that in the morning.

It's been raining last two days and that should continue at least today. But I've got so much to do that it really doesn't matter. On the weekend we should have a lot of activities in form of sports (basketball, soccer, beach volley - without beach) so I'm really looking forward to that. Hopefully it doesn't rain...

Me walk!

Or something like that...Yeah, I actually did exercise for two hours and walked about 12 k's.
It was very nice. I mean I think I said in the first week something about weekly running and... But walking is as good as that, right?

My objective is to walk one day to Uni...you guys in Finland know that it's not that crazy idea... Järvenpää-Lahti...(hullu)

Hot here!

Today was pretty hot day, some 30+ degrees at max. And similar weather is forecasted for friday...But maybe this helps me to adjust myself for the really hot days in summer. I've heard stories of 40+ days and I'm not happy with them. But I hope it still beats the autumn weather that you guys are experiencing in Finland :)

What else...I played some basketball with Milan and maybe we're having games on weekend. I mean normally when there games I'm at school. This weekend I'm off so hopefully they are too.

So I keep grilling here while you keep chilling there. And be aware of earthquakes ;)

When the working day is done...

As some of you (hopefully) recognised, the title is surprisingly from the Simpsons. In this case it refers to the marketing assignment as it's almost finished. We gave the presentation on Sunday and there's just a little bit tweaking and few things to add before handing in. So long mr. Marketing assignment, jep, he's finally gone...
Sunday was full of action in the evening too. Well not so full of action but there was a birthday party of Franziska, a German girl. First we had Thai-food and after few hours we went to a bar/club called Bourbon at Kings Cross. Was alright, I spoke a lot of German 'cause most of the people were from Germania (i know). The only negative thing was that I had to find a place to sleep since the trains don't drive during the night, at least to here. Luckily I found a sofa-bed nearby (thanks Kristian) and came home yesterday. Nice evening it was.

HD it is

I finally received the result of the first unit and as expected I did well. Even though it's nice to get high distinction I honestly have to say that the unit wasn't very hard. It could be that I was brilliant (and I am) but most likely the unit itself wasn't as hard as it could have been. Finnish mentality? Could be, we just have to wait and see how well I'll do in other units.

4 years too late

Today I went with Rune to Sydney's Olympic Park even though we quite didn't make the 12.15 train as planned (zzzz). And not just that, the train ticket was priced for tourists: 8 dollars return ticket! Please, it doesn't cost even close to that when travelling to City...
And the Olympic Park sucked, end of story. Well it's seems we came 4 years too late since most of the places were closed. But I still have to say it's a big park and it does look nice. I took few pictures for you to see, just a few.

Testing the camera

Today was a good day. I went with Rune, norske, to City just to hang around. First we took a ride with Monorail which was a rip-off and then to the Darling Harbour. There we discovered the Chinese Garden, I mean I hadn't even heard about it before. And that was great! So peaceful and tranquil and jet pretty much in the middle of Sydney.
As the title says, I tested my camera and took almost 70 pictures. I just love digital cameras! Just go and see for yourself.

p.s. Let's give a try for comments.

not everybody like Australia

I was just surfing the net and came across with this travel story...I can relate to some points but so far this trip has been a bit more successful. :) I mean you check it out and read it. It's a funny story.

raining raining raining

Why does it always have to rain? And the weather-girl promised sunshine and +25 degrees... :( Even though I have to say that I'd rather sit inside doing the (damn) marketing group work when it's raining. And why, you might ask, I have such strong negative feelings towards this highly valued subject? Well, I really can't say why. I just do... I also missed both episodes of the Simpsons. I mean that sucks but I think it's sometimes good to have break from that family. I calculated that during my stay so far, I must have seen around 100 hilarious episodes of the series. Of course I've seen all of them before, although I'm sure of that one...anyways that's a lot of quality time won't you say?

Feeling (just a li'l bit) blue

First of all I'm definitely not a homesick type of person. I'm mean my home is where my computer is (pretty nerdy&sad when you think of it). But today I happened to watch legendary videos of our (Kaljapallo) doings back home and longed for those moments...so it's not that I miss Finland itself but as we people are social animals (which sometimes amazes me) you can't actually live too long by yourself. Or something like that, hope you understand. Anyways (I hate when I write that s), sometimes it's good to realise that you miss your friends and family. That's the only way to truly know who they are...

Hail storm in Sydney...what?

Yes we did have hail storm here yesterday. I was (kind of) going to write about it already on yesterday but I guess you all know me...Anyways it was refreshing and reminded me that it's not only sunshine we have here (well, compared to Finland it still is but...). I tried to shoot some photos of lightnings but it didn't quite work out: I should've gone outside and risk my camera getting wet (and myself, cough). But I was "promised" that in the summer there would be dry storms with lots of lightnings (summer, please come quickly) so better luck then.

Go Swannies!

Sydney is going strong! I was planning to go to the game but the weather was pretty bad and I didn't get anyone else to come. Plus I think I have a flu (cough) . Anyways it was an entertaining game to watch and hopefully the next game in Friday is as good as this one. Hopefully we have three games left and three wins to come. St Kilda, you're going down!

Camera!!!

Had to go 'n get my camera today! I'm so excited...like a kid in a candy store. so much to explore and experience, damn (don't think a kid would say that) . I took few pictures today 'cause few mates had something going on. Looking good so far!

The Simpsons are here!

The new season of the Simpsons started today! It's the 15th season (which I've seen) so they are showing it with one year lag to US. Maybe to promote the series channel Ten aired 4 (!) episodes of the Simpsons today...that was almost too much even for me. We normally have 6 pm episode everyday (at the moment sixth season I guess) and 7 pm episode every weekday(randomly selected episodes) . On Wednesdays 7.30 pm is the newest episode but they showed another one at 8 pm. Gotta say I was pretty tired after the last one.

I got an email yesterday that my camera is ready to be picked up. I'm very excited and will pick it up tomorrow after our group work meeting (stupid marketing, thinks it so...). So get ready for an overwhelming amount of (weird) pictures. One thing's for sure, namely that I'll go to Blue Mountains again in next month or so and replace the pictures in photo album.

edit: Thanks for the lovely couple in Lahti who sent me salmiakki and heart-warming card ;)
